Before you decide

Any recommendation follows an individual assessment. Suitable options, alternatives and the choice to have no treatment are discussed. If prescribing arrangements are required, these form part of the assessment process.

We explain the proposed procedure’s limitations, possible adverse effects, risks and recovery before consent. These depend on the individual plan; fixed timelines and outcomes cannot be assumed. Bring details of previous procedures and ask about the total estimated cost before deciding.
